Close season

Broomwood FC will start again on Saturday 1st September 2007, with formal registration commencing September 8th.

We will be organising games for boys and girls aged 4-12 and kids will normally play with others from their respective school year. There will be a subscription fee to cover the season from September to May and an announcement on the subscription amount will be made nearer the time. There is no advanced registration - you simply need to register on the 9th, or one of the following Saturdays. Registrations are taken only on the Wandsworth Common on match days, so please just come to the Common as shown on the map rather than trying to register beforehand. We normally have space for all interested, especially if you arrive before Christmas.

We always need, and encourage, parents to come forward to help run the club. The club is not commercial and all the organisers are parent volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved as a referee, a coach or just helping out in general, then please make yourself known at registration.

Broomwood Festival

Don’t forget the end-of-season Festival on Saturday 12 May. Featuring a tournament for all age groups, extra food and drink, medals and trophies, its the day that makes all those wet wintry Saturday mornings on the common worthwhile.

NOTE: This one-off Saturday starts earlier than usual at 10am.

Dads football - a game of 2 venues

During the club’s season (Sept-May) we play in the same place as the kids.  Which is here: Venue 1
In the summer, from roughly mid-May to Sept we play over on the other side of the railway in the ‘dog-free area’ - flatter pitches and nearer the pub.
Venue 2
If you have no idea where either of these venues are, you’re starting from too far away.

Wandsworth Common Cup - U9s results

Last Saturday the U9s tournament featured 5 teams, 2 from Fit4Kidz and 3 from Broomwood; Tiger’s Badgers (why not Tiger’s Tigers?), Ewan’s Jellyfish and Joe’s Yo-Yos. After some great football including a stunning long-range strike from Matty J and a very brave glancing header from Will H, Joe’s team topped the league and were deserved winners. Congratulations to Joe and all the other members of the team - Matthew, Rory, Harvey, Raphael, Shay and Octav.
