16th Jan - football still on!
We haven’t received any instruction from the Council to cancel football tomorrow because of waterlogging, so please assume that it is on. I’ll update this at 5pm tonight.

UPDATE: Nothing from the council. So footy is ON!
Garage location and cart route
The carts are stored in a garage just off Mayford Road (see map). This is collected at 8.30 (every Saturday during the season) and pulled over to the BFC pitches. The route we follow is here.

Dads football - a game of 2 venues
During the club’s season (Sept-May) we play in the same place as the kids. Which is here:
In the summer, from roughly mid-May to Sept we play over on the other side of the railway in the ‘dog-free area’ - flatter pitches and nearer the pub.
If you have no idea where either of these venues are, you’re starting from too far away.
Dads football
For the past year, between 12 and 28 ‘veterans’ have been gracing the pitches at Broomwood FC on Saturday mornings. And ‘gracing’ is the right word. We play games of between 5 and 8-a-side (depending on the numbers available) from 9am until 10.15, after which give the pitches over to the kids. In the summer we also play mid-week, usually on a Wednesday evening and usually on a different pitch that’s a little closer to the pub.
There are plenty of conventions and lores but there is only one rule - no sliding tackles.
